Peanut Health Status Update November 2, 2009: The peanut has been the source of much health benefit debate over the years. Fortunately more and more sources have now realised the health benefits of peanuts and, in particular, the benefits of Hi Oleic peanuts which have been sold through The Peanut Van for some time now. Health magazines have been including references to peanuts more and more often, including Australian Men's Fitness magazine, (right). "Nuts have a very high satiety power - meaning they make you feel fuller than many other foods. And even though they're high in kilojoules, those kilojoules seem to be processed differently in the body. 2009 Peanut Festival Success! September 15, 2009: The September Peanut Festival was another success this year, with The Peanut Van sponsoring the world title Peanut Thresher Pull. The peanut thresher pull as always consists of one peanut thresher, a rope and a bunch sweaty men competing to pull the thresher a set distance against the clock. This year, the winning team and winner of the Guinness World Records accredited title was the PCA Social Club. Congratulations guys on a solid effort! The 2009 EKKA - Wow! What A Great Time! 18th August 2009: We've just returned from the 2009 EKKA in Brisbane. And if you were one of the thousands of people who came to see us there, we'd like to say a big "Thank You!" for making us feel so welcome. This year was only our second year at the EKKA and we were really surprised at how many people who'd seen us at last year's show came back especially to say "G'day!" Throughout the show great Queensland chefs like Peter Howard, Alison Alexander and Andrew Mirosch came onto our stand to do cooking demonstrations using all-Australian peanuts.
